My wedding reception was held at the Chameleon and catered by the in-house caterers. The air conditioner was not turned on--or was turned on late and it was in August so the temperature was in the high 90's. Most of the people left as soon as we arrived at the reception because it was too hot for them to stay. One of my bridesmaids had to go to the back and found one of the cooks smoking in the kitchen over the food and she discovered that the BBQ was bought from Food Lion. Trying to get the room set up was a logistical nightmare even though we had reserved the building and nothing else was being held there. It was next to impossible to arrange a time for people to get in there and decorate prior to the event. When my father contacted the owner after the event, the owner didn't seem too concerned about the poor quality. We had actually considered changing venues 2-3 weeks before the wedding because we were concerned, but didn't and we now wish we had.
The people who were actually working the night of my event--the servers--were wonderful, they did everything they could despite the heat.
