News & Observer food critic Greg Cox says: Brought to us by the owners of the ever-popular Pop's, Rue Cler offers an authentic French bistro experience in downtown Durham. The seasonally changing menu is nearly a can't-miss proposition, but French onion soup, duck confit with spaetzle, steak frites, moules frites, coq au vin, and roast chicken are all winning options. Salads are superb, too, whichever one you choose. Oh, and save room for dessert. Lunch Monday-Friday, dinner Monday-Saturday; bakery and café open Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm.
